WordPress.org or WordPress.com?
You will have two options for starting a WordPress site: WordPress.com or WordPress.org. While both of these offer the popular WordPress site-building and content management system, there is a difference—and knowing those differences can help you make the right choice for your new website and WordPress hosting needs.
Recommendation
In summary, WordPress.com or any other CMS like Wix or Weebly are convenient for a small and simple website but has some limits on available options for specific needs. It’s possible to buy a plan for more customizations but it quickly becomes expensive especially if you want to develop eCommerce.
WordPress.org is more complex. But you surely gain in autonomy, get more customizations and options like email addresses, making your business more professional.
For a business or organization, WordPress.org is a better solution.

Although it is recommended to use WordPress.org for unlimited possibilities, it is interesting to create a free website with WordPress.com. This allows you to discover the possibilities of the platform.
